GLP-1 Dietitian in Portland, Beaverton & Vancouver — In-Network Nutrition Support

Finding the right support while you are on a GLP-1 medication like Wegovy, Zepbound, Mounjaro, Ozempic, or Foundayo can make all the difference. Whether you are in Portland's Pearl District, out in Beaverton, across the river in Vancouver, or up in Seattle, having a dietitian who truly understands these medications is key to getting real, lasting results.

I see patients both in-person at my Portland and Beaverton offices, and virtually across Oregon, Washington, California, and beyond. If you have BCBS, Aetna, or UnitedHealthcare, chances are your visits are covered often with a 0 copay.

This is not just about eating less. GLP-1s change how your body processes food. Your appetite drops, your digestion slows, and the old rules of eating do not always apply anymore. Without the right nutrition strategy, you can lose muscle instead of fat, deal with stubborn constipation, or feel wiped out because you are not eating enough of the right things.

Here is what a GLP-1 nutrition plan actually looks like.

Protein first every single meal. When your appetite drops, every bite counts. I aim for 30 to 40 grams of protein per meal to protect your muscle mass and keep your metabolism running. That might look like eggs and Greek yogurt at breakfast, a grilled chicken salad at lunch, and salmon with vegetables at dinner. If you are struggling to eat enough, we find ways to add protein without adding volume.

Managing side effects before they manage you. Nausea, constipation, reflux, and fatigue are the four most common complaints I hear. They are also the ones I see people give up on. But they are manageable. Sometimes it is about timing your meals differently. Sometimes it is about adjusting your fiber or fluid intake. Sometimes it is about working with your prescriber on your dose timing. There is always a next step.

Building an exit strategy from day one. Whether you plan to stay on a maintenance dose or eventually taper off, we start planning for that on day one. The goal is to keep the metabolic improvements you have made without needing the medication forever. That means building real habits around movement, sleep, and nutrition that work for your actual life.

I work with patients in the Portland metro area every day. You do not need to figure this out alone.

If you are in Portland, Beaverton, Vancouver, or Seattle and want GLP-1 support that actually works with your insurance, reach out. We will do a benefits check first to make sure you are covered, then build a plan that fits your life.
